You move in—office, studio, or retreat, ready to use year-round.
Can you make it bigger / longer / different layout?
Yes - most projects are adaptations of the original Studio & Timber design. Contact us to discuss.
How long does installation take?
1-2 weeks for studio installation
Do you remove waste?
We take all surplus construction material away with us. We do not remove garden waste created from clearing the area ready for the studio build.
Can you handle electrics connection?
We can make recommendations for electricians but we do not cover any electrical installation ourselves.
Can I have a shower or toilet in the studio?
Yes — a toilet and shower can be designed into your garden room.
While we don’t carry out plumbing or drainage works, we can make full provision for these within the design and layout, including adapting the footprint if required. Plumbing, drainage and final fix electrical works would typically be completed by your own tradespeople and may require Building Regulations approval.
Alternatively, a composting toilet can simplify both planning and compliance.
Does the price include/exclude VAT?
We are currently not VAT regisistered but expect to be so this year. Please check with us at the point of enquiring so that we can be transparent with you as to whether our estimate includes VAT or not.
Do I need planning permission?
The garden studio size falls within permitted developement size so planning permission is not usually required to build it. Please check the planning portal guidance for boundary details, covenants and area of land useage before booking your build.
How close to the boundary can I put this garden room?
Our standard 2.4m x 4.5m garden room can be situated as close to the boundary as you require. A larger garden room 10-15msq has to be 1m from the boundary.
