Workshop & Office in Ipwich, Suffolk

After thinking about a garden room for several years, our Ipswich clients had struggled to find anything that felt quite right. They kept seeing variations of the same familiar designs, until they came across Studio & Timber and loved the bolder, more playful and design-led look of our garden rooms.

They wanted a longer building divided into two distinct spaces: a home office used every day, and a workshop giving one of them, a DT teacher, a dedicated place for her own projects and making. The office also includes a sofa and TV area with a foldaway desk – a space their teenage daughter is already hoping to claim for herself! An interlinking door between the two rooms gives them the flexibility to use the spaces separately now, while making it easy to combine them more in the future.

With a real eye for detail and a shared love of Danish-inspired design, birch ply was chosen for the interior to give the finished space a warm, simple and beautifully crafted feel. They love how it has turned out and the whole family are making great use of their new space.
